Information on Insurance Coverage

Here are our policies regarding insurance, receipts and invoices. It is the responsibility of the participant to confirm whether the program*, non-MD facilitator, and service is covered by their private insurance company prior to registration.

Coverage Provided by Third-Party Private Insurance Entities

In the event that you possess employee benefits or external private insurance, there is a likelihood that these resources could cover a portion or all expenses associated with a therapeutic program. We advise you to verify the professional designation(s) of the non-MD facilitator(s) leading the program you intend to enroll in.

Please ensure that your insurance covers the specific professional designation of the non-MD facilitator and as certain that the program is not excluded as a service within that profession. Please refer to the "Helpful Insurance & Registration Info" section of the program you plan to enroll in, to determine your eligibility for receiving an insurance receipt.

A. Verification of Insurance Coverage

It is incumbent upon you to liaise with your insurance provider to confirm the professional designations encompassed by your plan, such as Clinical Psychologist C.Psych, Registered Psychotherapist RP, Social Worker RSW or MSW RSW, Occupational Therapist OT, Naturopath ND, Registered Nurse RN. Moreover, it is imperative to verify whether your coverage extends to the specific group therapy you are interested in, including any provisions regarding online group therapy. Notably, insurance receipts cannot be signed by a Physician (MD) facilitator; therefore, confirming coverage for the non-MD facilitator(s) is crucial.

B. Attendance

Insurance receipts will reflect actual attendance for each session of the program, excluding silent retreats. Failure to attend a session significantly diminishes the likelihood of reimbursement by your insurance provider for that session.

C. Issuance of Insurance Receipts

The provision of insurance receipts is contingent upon the conclusion of the program. An itemized receipt detailing the therapy received will be issued, typically within one week following the final session. It is imperative to indicate your requirement for an insurance receipt as your program concludes; failure to communicate via the learning platform will result in non-receipt of an insurance document. The signed receipt will include the professional credentials and registration numbers of the program's non-MD facilitator(s), aligning with your insurance provider's requirement to submit claims under a single provider name and professional credential.

Insurance receipts are unavailable before program completion.

D. Bursary Participants

Participants who have received bursaries to enroll in our programs are ineligible to receive insurance receipts. We encourage individuals with third-party insurance coverage to self-fund their participation, given the limited availability of bursary positions.

*While most therapeutic programs are eligible for insurance coverage, introductory workshops, silent retreats, and professional development courses are exceptions.
